Nature Island Neeltje Jans

Nature island Neeltje Jans lies in the middle of the Oosterschelde estuary, between Schouwen-Duiveland and Noord-Beveland.
- Origin: A remarkable island where engineering and nature come together, created in the 1970s and 1980s as a work island during the construction of the storm surge barrier.
- Nature and beach: Quiet beaches and dunes where you can walk, sunbathe and watch birds – away from the crowds.
- Deltapark Neeltje Jans: Theme park where you can learn all about water, engineering, the North Sea Flood and the power of the sea; including aquariums and seal shows.
Storm Surge Barrier: The icon of the Delta Works; impressive to view up close, with a visitor centre and guided tours.- Water sports and excursions: Departure point for boat trips on the Oosterschelde, with chances to spot seals and porpoises.
- Education and experience: Interactive exhibitions, films and models provide insight into the battle against the water.
